VISCON25 Overview

Thank you to all who attended this year’s conference, held once again at NGV International in the wonderful Clemenger Auditorium. We focused on the Object Design field of Design Practice and enjoyed keynote presentations by Grazia Materia of grazia&co and Industry Speaker Philippe Guichard. These presentations provided insight into the professional practices and design philosophies of these talented practitioners, with much food for thought regarding copyright, Australian manufacturing, the significance of innovation and prototyping during the design process.

The day also featured a range of curriculum based presentations from teachers, Kathy Hendy-Ekers facilitated a Q&A with past Top Designs students, provided guidance on FAQ and where to find support materials for VCE and the F-10 2.0. Additionally, Gemma Savio provided a curators talk about NGV Design Studio: Making Good and John Parkinson provided suggestions for how teachers can engage with the gallery. The breaks provided an excellent opportunity for teachers to catch up, share ideas and reflections over a bite to eat. Some even took the opportunity to enjoy the neighbouring exhibitions.

As well summed up by a participants feedback it's "very special to be able to learn from peers and experts in a space that celebrates creativity."
